Mikel Joseph Duprey Jr. was a twenty-four year old college graduate with a degree in civil engineering after moving from New England with his father to Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina to help rebuild the Crescent City. The aftermath planted the seed of interest and need to choose a career path that would prevent anything like this from happening again. To provide stronger buildings, a better infrastructure, impenetrable levees, and the like.
He gained the interest of a sweet-hearted Irishman merely by a stroke of luck. Four years were spent in an online relationship before they finally got to meet. Connect. Touch. Get Trey the best doctors they could find to stave off the inevitable. But... there was only so much they could do.
It may have happened even before the last breaths were taken. A split second during that last kiss in the car's backseat that held them together through the ether. Fate? Destiny? Had their souls been linked in former lives then separated for generations only to find one another again and not allow their parting?
